PERSONAL HIGHLIGHTS

How old were you when you first started playing?

When I was young I always loved trying new sports and first started playing field hockey goalie for a local youth program in 5th grade. Sadly, I stopped after one season to focus on basketball. In the summer going into 7th grade I started playing again and fell in love with the sport after placing 4th in the Disney Summer Showcase.

Who was your favorite athlete growing up? (can be any sport)

Being from New England, my favorite athlete growing up was Tom Brady. I loved how he made those around him better and always expected the best from his teammates. He was an underdog and took advantage of his opportunity and became one of the best quarterbacks in history.

What's your go-to pregame meal?

My go-to pregame meal varies between a bagel and cream cheese, some fruit, or peanut butter on a rice cake. I also always make sure to have a piece of gum before I play to feel fresh.

What is your favorite pump-up song?

I love to get loose before games by listening to good dancing hype music and one of my go-to songs is "Know No Better" by Major Lazer, Travis Scott, Camila Cabello, and Quavo

Describe your playing style in no more than three words?

Agile, Controlled, Coachable

What is your favorite movie?

One of my favorite movies is Moneyball because I love seeing how math is incorporated into sports through statistics.

What fictional character would you love to meet?

I would love to meet Meredith Grey because I love Grey's Anatomy and am very interested in medicine and how the body works. Meredith had to work very hard and fight through adversity to get to the position she is in.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

As a child, I always knew I wanted to do something that involves helping others when I grew up. Whether that is being a neuroscientist, a coach, or a physical therapist- I loved the idea of helping others achieve their goals.

What do you do when you're not playing field hockey?

When I am not playing field hockey I love being with my family and friends. I spend my summers on Cape Cod, MA where I love going to the beach, watching sunsets, having bonfires, and relaxing at my grandparent's cottage. I also really enjoy going to the gym and staying active.

What is your favorite food to cook?

I am not the best cook but I love to make avocado toast on sourdough bread. Always a staple in my post practice or lift meal.

What is your favorite motivational quote?

My favorite motivational quote is "Find your strength." This past year I was diagnosed with a tumor in my spine and when I woke up from surgery I could not feel either leg. These three words were painted throughout the inpatient rehab center I attended and helped me push through relearning how to walk again. This quote really struck me and I will never forget it.

What is the best piece of advice you've ever received?

This is a hard question, but the best advice I ever received was to always give it your all and the results will come. Whether that is in the classroom or on the field, if you have a good work ethic and give 100% effort you will succeed in whatever you set your mind to.

What is your favorite place to travel to?

My favorite place to travel to would actually have to be London, England. I took a gap year after high school and spent 4 months in London playing field hockey for Surbiton Hockey Club. I loved exploring the beautiful city and I learned a lot from my amazing coaches and teammates. It was the best experience of my life and I hope to go back in the future.

Cake or pie?

Cake for sure.

Pineapples on pizza?

I am going to have to go with no pineapple on pizza

Beach house or cabin?

Beach house 100%

What is your favorite field hockey memory?

My favorite field hockey memory is from my first year of the U16 National Futures Championship. In the second half of our last game, our team was losing 4-1 and I made a diving stroke save. My team was hype from the save and it changed the energy of the game. Our team rallied together and scored 3 quick goals to tie the game. I will never forget the energy in the Dome down in Lancaster, PA as our team made an unforeseeable comeback.
