About Us / History
Longstreth Sporting Goods has been committed to female athletes since 1977. The Company was founded by Barbara Longstreth, a pioneer in playing and coaching field hockey and lacrosse at the US national team level. Barbra started selling field hockey sticks out of the trunk of her car. Barbara's passion for women's sports and commitment to providing personal attention for young female athletes started Longstreth and remains the core of our culture and mission today.
Longstreth works with all levels of teams and players - from the national teams to colleges and universities of all sizes, to high-end travel teams or clubs, to recreational leagues, down to kindergarten youth leagues. Longstreth has field hockey specialists, current and former athletes and coaches, who know their game inside and out, providing expertise in developing and sourcing the best products available to support female athletes.
