We’re so excited to welcome Lexi Schulz to the Longstreth Athlete Program as our newest Gryphon Ambassador!
Lexi played for Hershey High School, where she earned NFHCA Senior Impact Team and First Team All-State honors during her senior season. She also competed with PA United at the club level.
Now a freshman at Bucknell University, Lexi is taking the next step in her field hockey career, and we can’t wait to cheer her on as she continues to grow and shine!

What stick do you use and why do you choose it?
I use a Gryphon stick because I love the feel of it on the ball and how it complements my playing style. It gives me a great balance of control, power, and touch.
Do you have a grip preference? If so, which grip and why do you like it?
I prefer a traditional soft, cushioned grip because it feels comfortable in my hands and gives me confidence when handling the ball!
How long have you been playing field hockey and what made you first want to start playing?
I’ve been playing since second grade! My older sister Lauren played, and watching her inspired me to give it a try. I instantly fell in love with the sport!
Do you have any pre-game rituals?
A non-negotiable for me is having my electrolytes before each game. I also love dancing around with my teammates and listening to music!
What's your go-to pre-game meal?
Sweet potatoes and chicken! It’s simple, filling, and gives me energy for game day. Also helps that it's super yummy!
What is your go-to game day hairstyle?
I love a good slick back with a half braid ponytail!
Favorite pump-up song(s) to listen to before a game?
"She Will" by Lil Wayne.
Describe your playing style in three words?
Dynamic, selfless, and relentless.
What do you like to do when you are not playing field hockey? I love traveling and spending time with my family and friends!
Do you have any game day superstitions?
Throughout high school, I had a lucky sports bra and Hocsocx combo that I always wore on game days. Moving into college, I’m hoping to move away from that superstition since they got pretty beat up and a little gross over time, haha.
What is your favorite motivational quote?
“You don't have to; you get to.”
If you could give your younger self a piece of advice, what would it be?
Be confident in yourself!!!! Field hockey is a game of mistakes, so embrace every moment on the field, good or bad, and keep playing without hesitation.
What is your favorite field hockey memory?
Getting the opportunity to play with my sister during my freshman year and her senior year. Being teammates together is a memory I'll always cherish.
