We are pumped to announce that Finley Davidson has joined the Longstreth Athlete Program as a Gryphon Brand Ambassador!

Finley is a student athlete at St. Mary’s High School and plays club field hockey for Freedom HKY. She is a Max Field Hockey 2023-24 Top 100 Player to Watch and more recently was announced to the 2024-25 Junior U.S. Women’s National Team!

Fun Field Hockey Facts

What stick do you use and why do you choose it?
Gryphon Taboo because its light and easy for me to control dribbling, but enough weight for strong drives

Do you have a grip preference? If so, which grip and why do you like it?
I use the Gryphon grips because they last the longest and do not slip

How long have you been playing field hockey and what made you first want to start playing?
I have been playing on a team since kindergarten, and I used to run around with a stick in my hand while my mother coached when I was 2 ½

Do you have any pre-game rituals?
I always have to do figure 4s as a stretch

What's your go-to pre-game meal?
Uncrustables and bananas

What is your go-to game day hairstyle?
I wear my hair in a high ponytail and sometimes braid it or do bubble braids

Favorite pump-up song(s) to listen to before a game?
I love anything by Rhianna or Beyonce to pump me up

Describe your playing style in three words?
I am very confident, mindful, and intense

What do you like to do when you are not playing field hockey?
I love to hang out with my friends or go out on the water

Do you have any game day superstitions?
I do not have any superstitions.

What is your favorite motivational quote?
“Believe you can do it and you’re halfway there.”

If you could give your younger self a piece of advice, what would it be?
To go on more runs

What is your favorite field hockey memory?
When my high school team won the conference championship last year and finding out I made the Indoor Junior National Team
