“I am extremely proud to be a female athlete because, as a mother, I get to show my son what hard work and dedication look like - returning to play postpartum!

Extremely proud that my son gets to watch and be there on the sidelines to support me.

Extremely proud that my motivation to succeed goes beyond just field hockey.

Extremely proud to have carried my son and continued working towards excellence at the same time.”

“In this moment, I was not just proud to be a female athlete myself but proud to share my journey with other amazing female athletes. This is a moment captured after a huge win, in my junior season at Wake Forest. Sharing this moment with one of the best female athletes to do it, coach, and happy to say it, friend, Jackie Briggs. I felt not only filled with joy but filled with tremendous love for the game and those I do it with.”

“When I look back on my proudest moments as a female athlete, this one always stands out.

It’s not only about qualifying for the 2024 Olympics, but about being surrounded by such a great group of strong, determined women, all chasing the same goal together.

There’s something really special to me about that moment- the hard work, sacrifices, and belief that reminds me how powerful we are when we're in it together.”

“I chose this photo from my first ever tour as a freshman in high school with the U.S. U17 Junior National Team in Dublin, Ireland in 2017. I chose this photo because it was my first time representing the U.S. on the international stage at 15 years old, and I remember being incredibly excited, nervous, overwhelmed, and proud simultaneously. This photo reminds me of how far I’ve come, the pride I still have when I wear the jersey, and why I love playing hockey.”

“The past 18 months, I wasn’t able to kit up due to injuries, but I was often able to make a small impact from the sidelines. This included supporting my teammates by sharing my off field perspective or coaching younger girls as their love and knowledge of the game grew. Watching younger athletes enjoy the sport I love takes me back to the roots of why I play.”

I am proud to be a female athlete!  A female athlete to me represents strength, resilience, and bravery. A special moment for me recently was the opportunity to inspire and lead the way for rising hockey stars and other young female athletes. I hosted a clinic with Horizon Field Hockey Club, and I had the opportunity to interact with the players, share my values, share lessons learned, and grow the game.
