It cannot be emphasized enough how essential staying engaged with your sport throughout the entire year is to growth and improvement. Indoor field hockey is an extremely important facet of field hockey because it provides all players with the chance to develop their individual stick skills, passing velocity, shooting accuracy, individual defense, game awareness, and so much more.

Since indoor field hockey is not outdoor field hockey played inside, it allows athletes to become more versatile and challenge themselves to understand the differences between each game, also being able to separate field hockey inside versus outside.

Indoor is most popular in, but certainly not limited to, locations with cold seasonal climates. Playing indoor field hockey is so important to any athlete wanting to take their play to the next level.

The speed of the game is much faster than outdoor, largely due to the surface. Gaining experience with a higher speed and intensity definitely improves decision making abilities and reaction timing.

It also provides athletes with the chance to work on field hockey in a competitive environment with teammates all year long. Since the main outdoor hockey seasons are the Fall and Spring, indoor is an especially useful way to challenge yourself against other athletes and teams in the offseason, keeping up with your goals and future aspirations alongside an engaging team structure.
