Get To Know The Goalies

How old were you when you first started playing?

I was 6 when I started field hockey, but I was in 4th grade when I started goalkeeping. My mom started the local youth league, and my twin sister, Reagan, and I joined as the minimum age requirement.

Who was your favorite athlete growing up? (can be any sport)

Jackie Briggs - she coached me for my first year of Futures while she was still on the National Team. She also grew up in Berks County where I'm from, so I look at her journey as a standard of what I can accomplish, whether in field hockey or somewhere else.

What's your go-to pregame meal?

Salmon with asparagus and red potatoes, seasoned with plenty of salt.

What is your favorite pump-up song?

Rise by Katy Perry

Describe your playing style in no more than three words?

Agile, Dynamic, Loud

What is your secret talent?

I have a very unorthodox whistle. I can do it while smiling.

What is your favorite movie?

Spiderman: Into The Spiderverse

What fictional character would you love to meet?

I would like to meet someone from Marvel. Maybe The Ancient One from Doctor Strange? She is incredibly smart, and learning magic from her sounds like a cool opportunity.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I had a lot of childhood aspirations; preschool teacher, astronaut, WNBA player. I'm still holding out on my late growth spurt for the WNBA, ha!

What do you do when you're not playing field hockey?

I am an avid musician and singer. I've trained vocally for a couple of years, and I play five different instruments (piano, guitar, ukulele, French horn, and viola).

What is your favorite food to cook?

I am by no means a chef, but I make a pretty great cheese omelet. Definitely one of my go-to's in the kitchen.

What is your favorite motivational quote?

It's actually a bible verse. Philippians 3:14, I press towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called me. I use the verse to remind myself that there is a higher purpose for me in life than the struggle I face. When I find myself down, I remind myself to "press on".

What is your favorite place to travel to?

I don't travel very much unless it's for field hockey, but I've been to Universal Studios in Orlando once, and I'd love to go again. I'm a big Harry Potter fan, and I love the themed parks there.

Cake or pie?

PIE. I will fight for pie to my grave. Pumpkin pie, apple pie, and shoo fly pie are top tier, but my favorite is a chocolate chip pie that my grandmother used to make.

Pineapples on pizza?

NO!

Beach house or cabin?

I would enjoy both, but I like the busy atmosphere of a beach, so I would have to choose a beach house.

What is your favorite field hockey memory?

Winning the state championship my senior year. My high school team had our season ended two years in a row by the same team, and we lost the district championship to them a week or so prior. Finally overcoming that obstacle with Reagan and a group of seniors I had played sports with my whole life was a dream come true.
