At Longstreth, we’ve always believed in supporting the growth of field hockey at every level—from grassroots to elite play. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our new partnership with reLAX Field Hockey to bring an exciting twist to the game this summer: Hockey5s.
This collaboration is more than just a summer league—it’s a celebration of creativity, community, and the joy of playing the sport we love. ReLAX Field Hockey has built a reputation for making field hockey fun, accessible, and inclusive, and we couldn’t be more excited to team up with them to introduce young players to the fast-paced, high-energy world of Hockey5s.
What is Hockey5s?
Hockey5s is a dynamic, small-sided version of traditional field hockey. It keeps all the core skills and principles of the game but adds a fresh twist:
- 5 players per team
- Smaller playing field
- Rebound boards to keep the ball in play and the action nonstop
- No goalie—just pure, fast-paced fun
- Flexible rules to fit any surface and skill level
This format is perfect for younger players to build confidence, improve technique, and fall in love with the game in a fun, low-pressure environment.
Players will need to bring their own stick, mouthguard, shin guards, and turf shoes or sneakers. If your player is new to the sport and needs help getting equipped, just reach out—Longstreth is here to help ensure every child has what they need to play.
