PERSONAL HIGHLIGHTS
What stick do you play with and why do you choose it?
Osaka Probow Tour 100- After testing many different sticks I found this Osaka strikes the balance between control and power. The high carbon levels help me hit long over distance and the touch on-ball feels controlled and light.
What glove do you use and what do you like most about it?
Osaka Armadillo glove 4.0- As a defender who is often low, I need a glove that protects my hand and knuckles well. This glove does that while remaining light weight and the open hand grip allows me to retain full stick handling abilities.
What shinguards do you use?
TK T2 Shinguards- I chose these shin pads because they’re protected and light weight. They take a few trainings to break in, but they molded to my shins well.
What grip is currently on your stick?
TK Chamois Plus Grip- I prefer the chamois, specifically TK’s, as it is soft and absorbs sweat so my hands don’t slip and it is not too thick so I can easily keep hold of my stick.
What’s your go-to game day hairstyle?
Recently I have gone with the middle part, bun. I like my hair to be securely pulled back and the bun keeps any loose ends out of my eyes.
Do you have any pre-game rituals?
I keep every game day the same. Depending on what time the match is, I always start with a bit of game-plan review. Next, while going through a few stretches, I have a 10 minute imagery audio I made which helps me be present and mindful before the pre-game chaos begins. Then as a team we eat our pregame meal and it’s time to head for the pitch.
You go-to pre-game meal?
As a team we always request breakfast foods for pre-match. Personally, I like to eat a few scrambled eggs, pancakes and some fruit to fuel up.
What kind of music do you like to listen to before a game? Any specific pump up songs?
Instead of "pumping up" for a match, I usually need to "steady down". My prematch playlist is a relaxed list of some Christian songs. ‘Glory’ by Jervis Campbell is one of my go-to’s.
If you could give your younger self a piece of advice, what would it be?
Spend more time focusing on the basics! If you watch the best in the world, it’s beautiful because of their mastery of the fundamentals. They make those around them look good because their passes are accurate and they can trap any ball.
Describe your playing style in 3 words?
Patient, looking-long, passionate.
How long have you been playing with the USWNT?
I joined the team in the spring of 2021 and officially made the roster that summer.
Where was your favorite place to play internationally?
European cities! Hockey is a lifestyle in Europe, everyone comes out to watch and enjoy the match which creates such a lively atmosphere to play in. We can also more easily enjoy the culture in our down time by going to grab a coffee or explore a new city.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years I hope to be preparing for the home 2028 LA Olympic Games!
Other than field hockey, what activities do you enjoy doing?
Everyday I find rest in cooking. I love seeing what is in the fridge and creating from it or testing out new recipes. Also it helps me fuel my body properly for game time!
