We are excited to introduce Sami Wolfgang to the Longstreth Athlete Program as our newest Gryphon Ambassador!

Sami is from Harrisburg, PA, and plays for Central Dauphin High School; she also plays club for WC Eagles. Sami is not only a Longstreth Athlete, but also a Max Field Hockey Athlete who was named to the Top 100 Players in the Class of 2027!

Fun facts about Sami:

What stick do you use and why do you choose it?
I use the Gryphon Tour Samurai. I chose this stick because of the extreme low bow and the power of the stick.

How long have you been playing field hockey, and what made you first want to start playing?
I have been playing field hockey for 12 years; I started playing because my older sister played, and my mom was a coach.

Do you have any pre-game rituals?
My pregame ritual is to get my hair braided.

What's your go-to pregame meal?
My go-to pregame meal is Playa Bowls.

What is your go-to game day hairstyle?
My go-to hairstyle is two braids into a bun. 

Favorite pump-up song(s) to listen to before a game?
My favorite pump-up song to listen to before a game is Baby by Lil Baby.

Describe your playing style in three words?
Aggressive, fast, and forward.

What do you like to do when you are not playing field hockey?
When I’m not playing field hockey, I like to hang out with my friends and family.

Do you have any game day superstitions?
I always wear the same HocSocxs every gameday.

What is your favorite motivational quote?
My favorite quote is “Let all that you do be done in love.”

If you could give your younger self a piece of advice, what would it be?
If I could give my younger self advice, I would say not to worry because everything will work out the way it is supposed to.

What is your favorite field hockey memory? 
My favorite field hockey memory is scoring my first high school goal and it being with my older sister.
