How long have you played field hockey? I have been playing field hockey since I was 8 years old, and I first started playing because it was a sport I had never heard of and wanted to learn more.

What 3 words would you use to describe your playing style? Fast, aggressive, and controlled.

Why do you choose the Velocity Revolution? It feels light and quick while dribbling, yet still delivers powerful, controlled shots. Perfect for fast-paced play.

Do you have any pre-game rituals? Before every High School home game, my team comes out to “Simply the Best” by Tina Turner. We have a special formation when entering the field, tap the goalpost together, and then come together for our pre-game huddle.

Stick of Choice: Ritual Specialist 95

How long have you been playing field hockey, and what made you first want to start playing? I have been playing field hockey for eight years. Both of my parents played college sports, and they enrolled me in many sports to try when I was little. Eventually, field hockey became my favorite because I loved its technical aspects and appreciated that it was a team sport.

Go-to pre-game meal? Oatmeal or overnight oats

Any pre-game rituals? I always drink matcha!

School: Gwynedd Mercy Academy School
Stick of Choice: Ritual Ultra 95

What stick do you use and why do you choose it? I use the Ultra 95 Hockey Stick. I chose it because I love how lightweight it is, and the extreme low bow is something I always look for in a stick. I can get a ton of power on my shot with the Ultra 9, and I have a lot of control on my first touch, even with a high concentration of carbon.

If you could give your younger self a piece of advice, what would it be? Believe in yourself. Confidence is the key to success and achieving your goals.

How long have you been playing field hockey, and what made you first want to start playing? I have been playing field hockey for around five years! I started playing because I used to go to a summer camp where field hockey was an offered activity. I fell in love with the sport and asked my parents to sign me up!

Favorite pump-up song? My favorite pump-up song to listen to before a game is Afraid To Feel by LF SYSTEM.

Ellie Lewis

School: St. John’s High School
Stick of Choice: Ritual Finesse 95

What makes you choose the Ritual Finesse 95? use the Ritual Finesse 95 and I chose this stick due to how fast it is when executing skills, its power when hitting, and the amount of control I have thanks to the lightness of the stick.

Go-to game day hairstyle? For years, I have always stuck with my go-to slick-back bun. It started with me hating when my hair would touch my neck, but now I always have to have it up.

What’s one of your favorite field hockey memories? Winning our semi-final game in OT against our rival school to make it to the championship game freshman year.

What made you want to start playing field hockey? I’ve been playing field hockey since sixth grade and started because my best friend was playing in the fall and wanted a friend to play with her. After that fall season I fell in love with the sport and kept playing .

What made you first start playing field hockey? I have been playing field hockey for five years! When I was younger, I was playing on a nationally ranked soccer team and was completely into soccer.  One day, I stumbled upon a college field hockey game on TV.  I dropped to my knees and was mesmerized by the game! I couldn’t stop watching! Soon after, my mom signed me up for a clinic, and I fell in love with everything about the sport!

What’s a pre-game ritual you have? I have to have a mini Coca-Cola during warmups!
