We are thrilled to welcome Julia Traynor into the Longstreth Athlete Program as our newest Gryphon Ambassador!
From Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, Julia is a freshman at Kutztown University who made her mark this year, helping the team have countless victories. Her two other sisters, Jade and Jessica, also attend KU and are Longstreth/Gryphon Ambassadors!

What stick do you use and why do you choose it?
I use the Gryphon Tour 2025 because of its lightweight feel, low bow, and high carbon. It gives me power in my hits and gives me effective stick skills while dribbling.
How long have you been playing field hockey, and what made you first want to start playing?
I have been playing for 14 years. My mom was my coach in youth, which made it that much more fun, and I just continued through middle and high school and have just loved playing the game.
What's your go-to pre-game meal?
I don’t have a favorite pre-game meal, but I always like to have a granola bar with high carbs or applesauce squeeze.
What is your go-to game day hairstyle?
Either 2 braids into a ponytail or just a regular ponytail with no braids.

What do you like to do when you are not playing field hockey?
Hangout with my sister and friends
What is your favorite motivational quote?
Bible verse: Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”
If you could give your younger self a piece of advice, what would it be?
Take every chance you get and always be practicing the basics.
What is your favorite field hockey memory?
Winning PAC’s freshman year of high school with my sisters.
