We are thrilled to welcome Jade Traynor into the Longstreth Athlete Program as our newest Gryphon Ambassador!
Jade, from Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, is a freshman at Kutztown University. Making a name for herself, she’s helped the team with multiple assists and goals during her debut season. Her two other sisters, Julia and Jessica, also attend KU and are Longstreth/Gryphon Ambassadors!

What stick do you use and why do you choose it?
I use the Gryphon Tour Pro25 Series. I chose this stick because it has 100% carbon for good stick skills control and strong shots.
How long have you been playing field hockey, and what made you first want to start playing?
I have been playing field hockey for 14 years. I wanted to start playing because my mom influenced me, and she also coached me in my youth years. I have a cousin who played, and I would watch her compete all the time. The sport ran in the family, and when I picked up a stick, I loved it and had the desire to keep playing.
What's your go-to pre-game meal?
Applesauce. I do not have a meal, so I eat a good pre-game snack.
What is your go-to game day hairstyle?
2 dutch-braids into a ponytail
Favorite pump-up song(s) to listen to before a game?
2000s classics
Describe your playing style in three words?
Fast, Gritty, Selfless
What do you like to do when you are not playing field hockey?
Hangout with friends and go on adventures.
Do you have any game day superstitions?
Lying down with my teammate and having a conversation. Also, the same hairstyle for every game.
What is your favorite motivational quote?
Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.”
If you could give your younger self a piece of advice, what would it be?
Always work hard, and your successes will come.
What is your favorite field hockey memory?
Winning PACS in High School of Freshman Year.
