We are excited to welcome Claire Brown into the Longstreth Athlete Program as the newest Voodoo Ambassador! Claire is from Baldwin, Maryland and attends the Bryn Mawr School. She also plays club from H2O Field Hockey and has competed in multiple renown field hockey events such as the Max Field Hockey Class of 2029 National Player Invitational, U16 Nexus Championship, RCC, and The First Look.

What stick do you use and why do you choose it?
I love using the Voodoo Limitless stick because it is lightweight, allowing quick skills and movement. This stick increases the power behind my hits and improves my gameplay.
Do you have a grip preference? If so, which grip and why do you like it?
I currently use a Grays grip, and I like how it feels and its durability and color options. I have been using Grays grips for 2-3 years.
How long have you been playing field hockey and what made you first want to start playing?
I have been playing for 8 years. I quit soccer and gymnastics and was looking for a sport to play and many of my friends played field hockey.
Do you have any pre-game rituals?
I always listen to music before my games to pump me up and clear my mind.
What's your go-to pre-game meal?
I usually eat light foods, like fruits and pretzels, to fuel me in my games.
What is your go-to game day hairstyle?
A braided ponytail.
Favorite pump-up song(s) to listen to before a game?
I don’t have a specific song, but I like to listen to hype hip hop songs or maybe some pop music.
Describe your playing style in three words?
Consistent, Fast, Coachable
What do you like to do when you are not playing field hockey?
I like to hang out with my friends or do art and bake.
Do you have any game day superstitions?
In the car, I put my shinguards on when I’m 7 minutes away from the field, and I always put my left shoe on first.

If you could give your younger self a piece of advice, what would it be?
Take advantage of all of the opportunities you are given.
What is your favorite field hockey memory?
I have so many, but a recent one is when my high school team won the IAAM Championship.
