Amanda’s Top Traveling Tips

Having the opportunity to travel the world is something I cherish. Each trip is filled with new adventures & places to explore, cultures to become immersed in, and perspective to gain. During my time with the Women’s National Team, I’ve been extremely fortunate that hockey has allowed me to travel the globe to visit so many incredible countries– a long list including the likes of Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Chile, China, England, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Peru, South Africa, and Trinidad & Tobago. Add to that personal ventures to Spain, Portugal, Tanzania, and Mexico, I’ve certainly filled my passport. As an avid traveler, I’ve definitely learned quite a few lessons along the way, so here are some traveling essentials and tips to make your next trip hassle-free.

Traveling Tips:

Plan & Pack Outfits - Whether you're going on vacation or traveling for work, plan and pack outfits ahead of time. Although this takes some planning on the front end, it will save you space and time not to mention the doom and gloom of decision fatigue from picking your OOTD.

Streamline the Process - If you travel often, create a template or checklist for easy stress free packing. Traveling for field hockey most weekends, make a checklist, save it in your notes, and make packing a breeze. Update your list to tailor it to your needs. This is seriously a game changer that makes packing stress free and limits the “I feel like I'm missing something” feeling.

Chargers & Electronics Bag - Have an old Ritual glove bag? Old HocSocx pouch? Fill it with your electronic chargers. This hack keeps your bags clutter free and easily accessible.

Pick Your “Fighter” - A good travel bag cannot be underestimated. It’s important to choose bags that are practical to your needs. Does it have storage? Will you use the pockets & accessories? If you don’t have a good travel bag or hockey bag, it’s worth the investment! Makes traveling and packing a breeze.
