Hailing from Westfield, NJ, Alex is a standout at Oak Knoll School (’28) and was recently named one of Max Field Hockey’s Top 100 Players to Watch!

What stick do you use and why do you choose it?
I use the Gryphon Tour Pro25. I chose this stick because of the handle, which allows for elimination skills, as well as the power needed to be able to make strong, accurate passes.
Do you have a grip preference? If so, which grip and why do you like it?
Yes. I like using the Gryphon Chamois grip because I prefer a thicker grip, which is perfect for using the Chamois. I love the Gryphon Chamois because it is not slippery, even when it gets wet!
How long have you been playing field hockey, and what made you first want to start playing?
I have been playing field hockey for 5 years! I have always loved playing sports, but before I started playing field hockey, I played competitive soccer, basketball, and lacrosse, which gave me the skill set I needed for field hockey. Ever since I first picked up a field hockey stick, I have loved every second of playing!
Do you have any pre-game rituals?
My pregame ritual is to do a stretching circle and play the game ninja with my team!
What's your go-to pre-game meal?
My go-to pre-game meal is pasta with meatballs and parmesan cheese!
What is your go-to game day hairstyle?
My go-to game day hairstyle is a slicked back ponytail/bun.

My favorite pump-up song to listen to before a game is Still Sleepless
Describe your playing style in three words?
I would describe my playing style as shifty, speedy, and gritty
What do you like to do when you are not playing field hockey?
When not playing field hockey, I love to hang out with my friends and family!
Do you have any game day superstitions?
My game day superstitions are wearing my ladybug or avocado Hocsoxs!
What is your favorite motivational quote?
My favorite motivation quote is, “You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.” - Wayne Gretzky.
If you could give your younger self a piece of advice, what would it be?
If I could give my younger self one piece of advice, it would be to never give up on things you want most!
What is your favorite field hockey memory?
My favorite field hockey memory is winning the NJ State Championship my freshman year!
