Longstreth is excited to welcome Aileen Curtis into the Longstreth Athlete Program as one of the newest TK Ambassadors! Aileen is from Kennett Square, Pennsylvania and attends The Agnes Irwin School. She plays club field hockey for X-Calibur and was recently selected to play at the AAU Junior Olympic Games! Aileen is also a Max Field Hockey athlete who was named to the Top 150.

What stick do you use and why do you choose it? I choose the TK U1 Late Bow because I was able to gene rate lots of power behind my shot while maintaining sharp stick skills.
Do you have a grip preference? If so, which grip and why do you like it?
I like the Osaka Soft Grip Smooth because its soft, thin and when it gets wet, I still have good grip.
How long have you been playing field hockey and what made you first want to start playing?
I started playing field hockey when I was 9 years old. I was looking for a change from soccer, and since my mom played and was a high school coach, I decided to give hockey a try. I immediately fell in love with the game and my passion for the sport has only grown.
Do you have any pre-game rituals?
I like to listen to music and visualize.
What’s your go-to pre-game meal?
My go-to pre-game meal is Greek yogurt mixed with oatmeal, frozen berries, and nut butter.
What is your go-to game day hairstyle?
My go-to hairstyle is a ponytail.
Favorite pump-up song(s) to listen to before a game?
I have a lot different pump-up songs, but lately I have been listening to Young Blood by Noah Kahn.
Describe your playing style in three words?
Workhorse, playmaker, competitive
What do you like to do when you are not playing field hockey?
I like to go to the beach with my friends and read in my free time.
Do you have any game day superstitions?
I have lucky Hocsocx.
What is your favorite motivational quote?
“Hungry dogs run faster!”
If you could give your younger self a piece of advice, what would it be?
If it could give my younger self advice I would say that setbacks don’t define you, keep working hard and never lose the love of the game.
What is your favorite field hockey memory?
My favorite field hockey memory was our Agnes Irwin team road trip to Boston. Between the long bus rides, team dinners, cheering on our former teammate at BC, and getting to play in another state our team grew so much closer and made lifelong memories.
