Mid-October Update: 2025 MAX Field Hockey High School Rankings Shake Up
The 2025 high school field hockey season is heating up as we head into mid-October, and the competition at the top is tighter than ever. Several of the nation’s best programs have traded wins in recent weeks, creating what can only be described as “circles of victory” among elite teams.
Academy of Notre Dame de Namur (#1, Villanova, PA) continues to hold the top national spot with a 15-1 record despite suffering their first loss of the season in a road matchup against The Hill School (Pottstown, PA). Close behind, The Episcopal Academy (#2, Newtown Square, PA) jumps ahead of Villa Maria Academy (#3, Malvern, PA) after edging the Hurricanes 2-1 in a key midseason battle.
In the Mid-Atlantic Region, Collegiate School (Richmond, VA) moves into the top position following a strong 4-2 victory over VISAA Division I rival Trinity Episcopal School (Richmond, VA). Sacred Heart Academy (Louisville, KY) continues its dominant run, improving to 22-0-1 with multiple wins over top regional opponents and securing the #1 spot in the West/Mid-West Region.
