Longstreth’s Player of the Week is a special one, featuring an athlete who has made a name for herself in the all-time history of high school field hockey. That player is Jordyn Hollamon!
In the past few weeks, Jordyn scored her 200th career goal. And the more games she plays, the more goals she scores. Reaching 200 goals is an incredible milestone and one that is extremely hard to come by. In fact, Jordyn is now 8th on the list of all-time highest goal-scorers in high school, only behind Mackenzie Allessie (351), Austyn Cuneo (328), Ryleigh Heck (323), Talia Schenck (244), Hope Rose (233), Olivia Fraticelli (223), and Meredith Shoulder (217), and ahead of all others. It is incredibly exciting to witness such an amazing feat. Jordyn and her Delmar field hockey team are 13-1 this season with just two games remaining, entering postseason play next week. Last season, she was named a First Team All-American by MAX Field Hockey as a junior at Delmar High School, recording 73 total goals and 14 assists, along with winning the Delaware Division II State Championship. Delmar’s goal is to win the state once again in 2024.
Jordyn is currently one of the 10 best players in the high school Class of 2025 and is committed to play field hockey at the University of Maryland next year. Her older sister Josie is a sophomore defender at Maryland, meaning that the two will once again get the chance to play together soon. Like her sister, Jordyn has gained much experience as a member of Team USA. She played with the U.S. U18 National Team in Belgium this past spring and has been a part of the Junior National Teams for the past several years. All of her successes are a true testament to Jordyn’s work ethic and will to continue improving and developing as a player, working her way towards the top of the list of the nation’s best scorers in the remainder of her season.
