Get to know a few of the 2026 Longstreth Senior All Americans before they take the field! We caught up with some of this year's athletes and asked them five questions to learn more about who they are.
- What do you focus on to stay consistent as a player?
- How do you prepare yourself mentally before games?
- What separates a good player from a great one in your opinion?
- How do you respond when things are not going your way?
- Are you more vocal or lead by example?
Here’s what they had to say:

Savannah Freeland
To stay consistent as a player, I try to stay focused on things like effort and having a high work rate. So as a forward, even when I'm having an off-shooting day, I can still impact the game in other ways by playing defense, making passes, and making leads.
Before games, I listen to music and visualize different plays and scenarios in my head.
What separates a good player from a great player is staying positive and continuing to work hard even when things aren’t going your way.
When things aren't going my way, I focus on still having a high work rate and being a good teammate.
I lead more by example.

Chloe Hook
I would say being disciplined in practice and giving effort even when I don’t feel like it helps me stay true to myself and stay consistent.
I prepare myself mentally by visualizing the game and having confidence in my skills. I also listen to music to calm my mind.
A great player tries hard in every practice and puts in 110% for everything. They don’t let mistakes get to them, and they always try to improve.
When things aren’t going my way, I try to keep a positive mindset even when it might be tricky to do so. I try to help my team instead of getting frustrated.
I would say I am more vocal because communication goes a long way, especially in field hockey, and can really change the team’s success. Communication helps us stay connected and shows trust in each other.

Morgan Hook
Constantly focusing on the fundamentals, my effort, and always giving it my all if I feel like it or not!
I mentally prepare myself before a game by visualizing what I am going to accomplish in that game, listen to music, and get hype with my teammates.
Great players work on themselves on and off the field, not just focusing on talent, but also discipline, consistency, know when to make the right decisions, and not making just themselves better, but also the players around them better.
Instead of getting stressed over one mistake, get the next play and move on. Also staying composed and confident in my abilities.
I am more of a vocal leader as I help my teammates with positioning, help motivate them, and guide them to success.

Emma Haynes
I focus on not only my physical fitness but also my mental fitness too. I train under pressure to practice the high stakes that would occur in a game.
Before games, to prepare myself, I journal about 3 actionable things I can do on both offense and defense. For example, I say 1) forward 2)attack 3) low as things I can control. This helps ground me and focus on the process, not the outcome.
I think strong fundamental skills, a positive attitude, and the desire and heart to improve separates the good from the great.
I take a breath and reset mentally and remind myself of my goals. Control the controllables.
I think I am more lead by example.

Lila Stilley
I mainly focus on just having fun while I play because I believe that at the end of the day, if you are having fun in what you are doing, you can be consistent.
I like to listen to hype up music like Cardi B before I play because it helps me lock in.
I think a good player is someone who always performs well during games. A great player is someone who does this while also making everyone else around them better by being a good teammate and friend.
I try to have the memory of a goldfish. It won’t help my game if I focus on the mistake I made 10 minutes ago.
I am pretty vocal when I’m on the field. As a defender, you see the whole field in front of you, so you must be vocal for the team to play as a whole.
