Longstreth Field Hockey Player of the Week - Catherine D’Arcy

Congratulations to Catherine D’Arcy on earning Week 4 Player of the Week Honors! From Mamaroneck in New York, Catherine is a senior midfielder. Her team is 11-0 this season, including two notable wins at the MAX Field Hockey/Longstreth National High School Invitational last weekend. Mamaroneck competed in highly competitive games at the invitational against teams from Ohio and Pennsylvania. They beat Thomas Worthington High School, ranked #13 in the West/Midwest Region, 1-0 on Saturday and quickly turned around to top Oley Valley High School 2-1 in Overtime on Sunday in the final game of the event. D’Arcy was an important contributing factor in these games.

Beyond that, Catherine was recently named the Con Edison Athlete of the Week in Mamaroneck. Thus far in the season, she has contributed 14 goals and 14 assists to her team’s successes. Mamaroneck has had an incredible season, outscoring opponents 71-5, and not only boasting a #1 league ranking but a #1 spot in the entire state of New York. As of MAX Field Hockey’s most recent rankings, Mamaroneck is #19 in the entire United States.

D'Arcy is an extremely well-rounded athlete, whose discipline on the field and in the classroom is evident. She plans to continue her career with field hockey next year at Johns Hopkins University after rounding out her playing career at Mamaroneck.
