Cape Henlopen earned one of the two State Championship titles in Delaware this year. They were the top seed going into the tournament and ended up facing a talented Smyrna High School team in the finals on November 11.
Cape began the playoffs with a 10-0 win over St. Georges, and then came out on top in two 2-1 games, the first against Charter and the second against the state runners-up Smyrna, who dominated play in the first two rounds. Nevertheless, the connection between the Cape Henlopen players was unstoppable as they won their 11th championship in the past 13 years with the victory.
