Since 1977, Longstreth has been working for young female athletes, and to this day, we often get asked where our company name comes from. If you didn’t know, Longstreth is the last name of our founder, Barbara Longstreth’s name. Barbara, a pioneer in the United States in playing and coaching field hockey and lacrosse at the national team level, started selling field hockey sticks out of the trunk of her car. Barbara's passion for women's sports and commitment to providing personal attention to young female athletes started Longstreth and remains the core of our culture and mission today. To this day, we continue to pride ourselves on the idea that Longstreth is a company committed to the field hockey athlete, founded and managed by players for players. We strive to be the destination for all field hockey athletes to find the best products, solid advice, and great community support for the game.

Today, Barbara still lives locally with her family and was kind enough to send us a special message to all the female athletes out there to help us celebrate National Girls & Women in Sports Day.
